“So I ask you: Are you looking for empty thrills in life, or do you want to feel a power that can give you a lasting sense of life and fulfillment? Empty thrills or the power of grace? To find fulfillment, to gain new strength, there is a way. It is not a thing or an object, but a person, and he is alive. His name is Jesus Christ.” (Pope Francis at World Youth Day 2016, Krakow, Poland)
In its mission to bring the love of Jesus to young people everywhere, the Jesus Youth "Youth Ministry" plays a pivotal role in bringing it to fruition. Through prayer meetings, retreats, regular fellowship gatherings, bible study, formation programmes, organising pilgrimages and worship evenings - the youth ministry is always on the lookout for reaching out to more and more young people with the healing touch of Christ.
From its inception, youth prayer groups have been at the heart of how the movement has spread its branches to let many who were weary to perch in its shade, while at the same time letting the roots of its spirituality sink deep in the fields of His fatherly love. Currently Jesus Youth UK has prayer groups in many towns and cities across the UK, with these prayer groups organising regular retreats and follow-up programmes.
The Jesus Youth youth ministry in UK runs round the year formation programmes like Youth Formation Programme (YFP), Leaders Formation Programme (LFP), "Amen" praise and worship evenings and other ongoing formation programmes with the eventual goal of bringing "life and life in its abundance" to every young person coming in contact with the movement.
